Materials and Storage
The wood from which the top frame has been crafted has been left unfinished and will naturally turn a beautiful grey overtime. See the example in the photo below which is over 20 years old.
The top frame is not 100 percent weather or waterproof. It is okay for the top frame to get wet and then dry off but prolonged exposure to moisture will damage the wood of the top frame reducing its lifespan.
When not in use the top frame should be stored ideally inside a garage or shed somewhere dry. If stored outside the top frame should be kept dry undercover.
The marine plywood that the top frame is made from is 70 percent PEFC certified. The corner blocks of the top frame are from responsibly sourced sustainable suppliers.
